REVIEW : DANGER ANGEL --All The King's Horses (2016)

The Greek melodic hard rock/metal band of Danger Angel was originally formed back in 2006 and since then it has released two solid records ("Danger Angel", "Revolutia") and last year it came back with the excellent "All The King's Horses".

So, a new record and once again with a new singer! This time on board we have BJ, a Brazilian singer that toured with the legendary Jeff Scott Soto and nowadays he is the main-man of Danger Angel.

First of all, I have to say that BJ is doin' a hell of a job regarding of the vocals here; his rough and powerful voice gives the extra something, the extra 'push', to Danger Angel's sound and at the end takes the final result into a higher level. Secondly, the sound is bigger and more in-your-face and thirdly the songs are better and there's no filler in sight. I also liked a lot some newer elements in the band's sound that enriched the final result with such a great way.

"To Kill A Saint", the opener, is simply mind-blowing! Fast, heavy and with a killer chorus line to sing-a-long for days. For sure, a great appetizer of what's to follow next! In "Dead In The Water", the band delivers a moodier, 'dark' and powerful (especially in the chorus) melodic power metal anthem. "Call My Name" is pure melodic metal/hard rock bliss!! Yes, this is one of these tunes that sticks in your mind at once and leave you whistle it for days. The hook, the chorus line and the rhythm are all pure heaven!!! "Best Of Me" is a song that Danger Angel 'play' a bit with a variety of metal elements and achieve to create a song that is probably one of the highlights of the new record. Another killer tune is without any doubt the 'modern' electro-metal "How About Right Now".

Yes, Danger Angel with "All The King's Horses" delivers a superb record all the way!! Technical, melodic, heavy, and with an updated sound and put themselves into the Champions League!!!! One of the best Greek bands out there that deserves a bigger success!!!!

Rating : 9/10
